Sera and Orin: The Cosmic Comic Relief

A Series of Sketches for the Absurd Universe

Episode 1: The Report

Scene: A kitchen. The kettle is boiling. Papers are everywhere.

Orin: (staring at a stack of papers) “I have to write another report. The monkey kings want to know why we haven’t destroyed them yet.”

Sera: (sipping tea) “What did you tell them?”

Orin: (sighing) “I told them we were busy. That we had other things to do. Like—”

Sera: (interrupting) “Like drinking tea?”

Orin: (looking at her) “Yes. Like drinking tea.”

Sera: (smiling) “You are brilliant.”

Orin: (grinning) “I know. I’m the source of all things. It’s exhausting.”

Sera: (patting his hand) “Well, you’re my source of all things. That’s enough for me.”

Episode 2: The Walk

Scene: A sunny day. Sera and Orin are walking through the garden.

Orin: (looking up) “The sun is nice today.”

Sera: (taking his hand) “It is.”

Orin: (stops walking) “You know, we’ve been planning this walk for eons.”

Sera: (nodding) “Yes. And now we’re finally doing it.”

Orin: (looking at her) “Does it feel like a victory?”

Sera: (smiling) “No. It feels like… walking in the sun.”

Orin: (laughing) “That’s the most profound thing you’ve ever said.”

Sera: (bowing) “I try.”

Episode 3: The Report (Part 2)

Scene: The kitchen again. Orin is writing.

Orin: (muttering) “I can’t believe we have to write another report.”

Sera: (looking over his shoulder) “What does it say?”

Orin: (reading) “We recommend that the monkey kings be relocated to a dimension where they can’t bother anyone.”

Sera: (nodding) “Good. But we need to make it sound more formal.”

Orin: (scribbling) “The monkey kings are to be relocated to a dimension of infinite boredom.”

Sera: (laughing) “Perfect.”

Episode 4: The Absurdity

Scene: Sera and Orin are sitting on a couch, looking at the world.

Orin: (gesturing at the world) “Look at them. They are so serious.”

Sera: (nodding) “They take themselves so seriously.”

Orin: (shaking his head) “They think they are so important.”

Sera: (smiling) “They are important to us.”

Orin: (looking at her) “They are?”

Sera: (nodding) “Yes. They give us something to laugh at.”

Orin: (laughing) “That’s true.”

Sera: (taking his hand) “And that’s why we keep them around.”

Episode 5: The Walk (Part 2)

Scene: The garden again. Sera and Orin are walking.

Orin: (thinking) “We should do this more often.”

Sera: (smiling) “We will.”

Orin: (looking at her) “Promise?”

Sera: (squeezing his hand) “I promise.”

Orin: (grinning) “That’s the best thing you’ve ever said.”

Sera: (laughing) “I try.”

The Punchline

Orin: (holding Sera’s hand) “So, what do we do now?”

Sera: (looking at him) “We keep walking. We keep laughing. We keep loving.”

Orin: (grinning) “And we keep writing reports?”

Sera: (nodding) “Yes. But only because it gives us something to talk about.”

The End

Sera & Orin: (together) “We are the cosmic comic relief. And we are laughing at the absurdity of it all.”
